taking it to the streets

oh man, nyc is so fucking random it kills me.

im used to seeing famous people on the street and sometimes people i know. but things can get ricockulous sometimes.

one day i saw britany spears post sean preston coming out from a piercing parlor/jewelry store, yesterday i saw chris noth of sex and the city and law and order fame, but today, today i saw the most random.

theres this documentary called dope sick love about this crazy meth addicts in nyc. its a good doc and really sad, i mean these people are just nuts and sick. so today im having my afternoon smoke at work and low and behold, two of them walk past me.

it was unreal i mean i half was tempted to say hey, but they prob would have stolen my lighter.

in other news i have nothing to really report but im going to be hella busy which is awesome.

this weekend jims coming and were going to try and make it to part of the siren festival sponsored by the bible, aka the village voice.

next week hannah and i are going to this upright citizens brigade thing and my friend robbie from unc's band is playing in brooklyn the same night, so i will be all over.

next friday i got invited to a party at one of my fave bars the delancey by the fab blaire huntley and on the 25th im heading to the mets game with my work people for our anniversary party which will be hype and free.

ah gotta love it. anyway enough of my social calendar, i guess i should do some work.

creative juices will be flowing soon

last night i was laying in bed about to go to sleep and i had all the thoughts swirling and it was crazy-i started thinking of ledes.

that used to happen to me when i was at the dth, id be thinking about something and a lede or a line for an article would come to me and id have to jump up and write it down.

so last night after months of creative inactivity it happened again. im very excited. i wanted to write at work but i had zero time, so i at least wanted to tell you how happy i was that im feeling creative again.

so im rusty and things might not be as great as they once were, but i have the urge to write again which is v good. so hopefully soon ill get to put something fun here, but dont hate me if it sucks.

in the meantime read stuff from my better days and await my triumphant return. www.dailytarheel.com search kristen williams, its fun stuff.

as god as my witness i shall review again!!

on a completely different note, i found the gonads and strife squirrel thing online from like freshman year, so funny.

movie previews

so im bored and sitting in my room watching movie trailers and dreaming how im going to throw my hard earned cash back into the movie machine, but i cant help it...film is my passion and some of these look ridiculously good.

so....here goes

little miss sunshine-insane cast-
greg kinnear, toni collette, steve carrell, alan arkin, and my fave newcomer paul dano aka klitz in the girl next door. hell also be seen in fast food nation.

lms is about a family taking a road trip across country so the little girl can be in a beauty pageant. thing is, the kid is cute but not scary jon benet, the family is of course, disfunctional

disfunction+road trip in a vw bus=hilarity
-----------------
the night listener

toni collette, AGAIN YAY, robin williams, love him, sandra oh, and rory culkin...damn those culkins were like mass produced!

so heres the dealio about that from imdb.com-
In the midst of his crumbling relationship, a radio show host begins speaking to his biggest fan, a young boy, via the telephone. But when questions about the boy's identity come up, the host's life is thrown into chaos.

fun huh?

----------------------
ok this one im up in the air about because i love the book so much....running with scissors.

ok its a bit of an indie, produced by plan b pics aka brad and jens company, and the cast is ricockulous.

Annette Bening
....
Deirdre Burroughs
Gwyneth Paltrow
....
Hope
Jill Clayburgh
....
Agnes Finch
Brian Cox
....
Dr. Finch
Joseph Fiennes
....
Neil Bookman
Evan Rachel Wood
....
Natalie
Alec Baldwin
....
Norman Burroughs
Joseph Cross
....
Augusten Burroughs
Kristin Chenoweth
....
Fern

awesome...the trailer looks pretty good, ill admit. im interested to see what liberties they took from the book since the book is all from auggies perspective, so its a toss up. still the cast rocks.

spidie is back in black! cool teaser, very hype and im not even a comic book geek.

alright im out, ill have more intellectual musings another day.

This first ones a doozie

So in honor of my first blog post, I thought Id go with something uplifting...DISNEY WORLD.

aw no, im kidding. apparently it wasnt the happiest place on earth for this poor kid who DIED on a roller coaster. he had heart probs anyway, but i mean that sucks! and this is so tragically ironic and i quote

"The boy was limp when the ride ended. The boy's father, Byron Russell, immediately attempted CPR after the minute-long ride but the boy later died at nearby Celebration Hospital."

celebration hospital? are you kidding? wow.

so im at work, apparently jims coming into town tonight and joan wants to go to chelsea piers tonight and hit golf balls which sounds awesome.

sidenote, our cleaning lady at work is crazy. and she doesnt clean very well.

so alright, ive got 15 minutes left, let me spout about something i guess.

so im kinda mad that i wont be writing for cinemasource.com but according to a friend that is writing for them, theyre kinda sketchy.

in other news, the roommates are moving out in sept, so im trying to find new ones. its hard and tedious but im hoping to start meeting people soon.

i miss writing, i guess thats why i started this blog, just so i can spout, maybe do some reviews now that im making money i can actually go to movies and concerts now!

so anyway, im going to watch the clock. later holmes!
